ADVANCING RESEARCH IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
Through applied, multidisciplinary research, professional and leadership development, and partnerships with schools, families, and communities, the Sherman Center for Early Learning helps to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning among young children in Baltimore City and develop best early childhood education practices for urban schools.
Primarily funded by an initial grant from the Sherman Family Foundation, the Center has successfully received external grants and awarded internal grants to support research studies to advance the early childhood education (ECE) field. The Center, through its collaborative projects with ECE stakeholders, also has a repository of data that we invite ECE researchers to explore as a part of pilot and dissertation studies.
